DANIELLE GIBERTI, DESIGNER

DSC_0186-EDIT-1

Since I was young, I knew I wanted to be a designer. I started out coding and designing websites like dani.pandasaur.com at the age of 12, made my first public typeface at 13, and ever since, I've been eager to learn more about design.

I pursued a BFA in Graphic Design from Cal Poly Pomona. For a few years, I designed for my university at the campus print and design studio, CPP Graphic Communication Services. I had a summer internship in El Segundo at Sugarfina candy company which was pretty sweet. I did print/packaging design there. A few of my intern projects from there went on to production! For a few years, I also worked with one of the largest seaweed producers in the world, Nora Snacks, to create environmental graphics like signage and displays for tradeshows, edits to their packaging designs and dielines, and print ads for magazines.

Right after that, I worked with Fiesta Toy for a few years as a graphic designer. I "wore many hats". Designed print signage for tradeshows and magazine advertisements, designed graphics and dielines for packaging designs, created concepts then brand guidelines and logos for new lines, and one of my largest projects was completely redesigning Fiesta's website from scratch, which involved not only designing the visuals, but also organizing all the information, writing the copy, and setting up the digital storefront which generated thousands in additional income for the company. Had the opportunity to illustrate for Fiesta as well, making artwork for various goods. I spent a good chunk of time as a product designer. Working with licensors and their style guidelines, I developed products from start to finish for clients like Sanrio, Spam, Bob Ross, PeanutsGreat Wolf Lodge, Universal, and countless theme parks, zoos, aquariums, and county fairs all over the US. I would speak directly with factories in Asia to discuss changes until we had a perfect sample.

From there, I was hired by Squishmallows as a product designer! Working with factories in Asia and our in-house design/brand/product development teams, I had the opportunity to design with the team illustrated concepts, to technical PDS sheets with colors and sculpt specifications, to reviews of products leading up to the final product! Mostly worked on plush soft goods here, but I've also designed hard goods such as plush accessories and our Squooshems, Tsunameez.

Outside of design, I like to do a multitude of things: backpacking in the Sierra Nevadas, trying to cook new recipes, and recently I went all over Japan! Always looking for what to do next!
